Hi friends, some of our viewers had told us about a place called Fat Fish in Arpora which they said has a very big thali. So I’m going to try Fat Fish Arpora’s thali

There is plenty of parking space, which is a big plus in Bardez

Maria and I are having lunch today with our friend Mandy

No UPI payment option was a bit of a pain. We had to go to an ATM and come back. Hopefully UPI option will be back soon

Fat Fish was full with tourists

I am definitely having thw special fish thali (Rs 580). Maria’s gonna have the chicken thali (Rs 550). And Mandy’s gonna have butter garlic prawns (Rs 590)

Mandy’s prawns butter garlic (Rs 590) has nice big, juicy prawns

Maria’s chicken thali (Rs 550) has chicken cafreal, salad, white pumpkin bhaji, chicken vindaloo, chicken fry, chicken xacuti, so kari, pickle, papor and rice

My special fish thali (Rs 580) has fried kingfish, salad, pineapple sasav my favourite, white pumpkin bhaji, teesrio, crab masala, dry mackerel curry, fish curry, pickle, kismur and rice

By the time we are ready to leave, Fat Fish is absolutely packed and more people are coming in

Mandy loved the butter garlic prawns and serradura dessert. She also liked the chicken cafreal and chicken xacuti from Maria's thali

Maria enjoyed her chicken thali, the chicken cafreal, chicken fry, xacuti chicken and chicken vindaloo, pumpkin bhaji was very tasty

Only the shellfish and sol kari was not up to the mark

Quite often we get requests from people to cover places near Calangute-Baga and Candolim and all that and reason we don’t cover very many of them is when we have tried to go and cover we’ve always had problems parking, or sometimes you go all the way and they say ‘no, you can’t shoot over here’. We didn’t really know anything about the Fat Fish. Few of our viewers have said you must try Fat Fish in Arpora and we were amazed to find that it is quite a gigantic restaurant. They have, in fact, two spaces on either side of the road. And the whole place was absolutely packed. So even despite having such a huge restaurant, there’s a lot of demand

One thing we can say is we didn’t really see any Goans eating over there and perhaps that’s not surprising when you look at the prices

So for all you tourists who keep asking us for places along the golden strip of Calangute-Baga, the Fat Fish in Arpora is definitely a good choice

I really liked the crab masala, the fish curry, kingfish was very well fried, kismur was lovely. Only the dry mackerel curry was okay and the teesrio was very disappointing. The white pumpkin bhaji was very nice.

All three of us really enjoyed our lunch

So definitely if you’re visiting Candolim, Baga, Calangute then the Fat Fish is definitely a place to go
