This week Schony747 is at The Ballarat Tramway Museum witnessing the rare horse drawn tram - Ballarat One. Horse Drawn Trams started running in Ballarat in 1887. In 1904 electric trams started running and by the year 1913, all horse drawn trams were withdrawn and The Ballarat Tramway System became an all electric tram fleet.

Ballarat One is the only preserved horse drawn tram at Ballarat. It is also one of the very few reminders that Ballarat actualy had horse drawn trams. Ballarat One was rescued from a property around the Ballarat area in 1985. In 1992, the restored tram was launched again enabling this icon to carry passengers again. These days, the tram spends most of it's time as a static display at the Ballarat Tramway Museum. Once a year, the tram is placed on the museums running tracks so the general public can enjoy a ride on something well over 100 years old.
