Maybe you've heard the saying before: If you love someone let them go if they come back it was meant to be... Well, I don't really buy that. Let me explain...

The whole idea of learning to let them go to get them back is not new. People have been talking about it for a long time.

But is it accurate?

Not necessarily.

Just because something rhymes or has a catchy sound to it, doesn't mean it's true.

It's my main problem with "fortune cookie" advice.

It's generally not actually good advice to live by.

Just because something rhymes or sounds nice or is the lyrics for a song doesn't mean that you should live your life by it.

Think for yourself.

Go after what you want.

Sometimes you'll have to push yourself out of your comfort zone and stretch a bit.

And sometimes that means not following fortune cookie advice.
