Jennifer Lopez says, "I knew I wanted to hear her sing a song like this; it's one of my favorite songs. ... There's a tenderness in this song that I feel that she will kill. ... I think it's going to be a really nice moment for her."

She has sung Whitney Houston and Beyoncé successfully already, so Mariah Carey's My All shouldn't be any problem, right? Doesn't look that way. It's got that tender side that Jennifer was talking about, and we really haven't heard Jessica spend that much time in her lower register, which the verses require. It's a tough melody, one that moves all over the place, and Jessica's up to the task. Beautiful rendition. Maybe not a showstopper, but she can save that for the last round.

"That was absolutely beautiful, perfectly the right song for you," Randy says, noting that they usually tell contestants not to sing Mariah songs. "I'm telling you what, I think it's one of the best times a Mariah song has ever been performed on TV."

"Hard song!" says Jennifer. "But you did it so beautifully, and you did it in your own way. ... You didn't even go for the big part at the end, and I love that."

"When you sing, you make people hang on your every note," Steven tells her. "I hope you just get used to encore. ... In another crazy way, you'll be the last one standing here, I believe."

"Did you just predict the winner?" Ryan asks Steven.

"Don't I always?" says Steven.
