Jamie Chimpanzee has been living at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest for more than ten years. Prior to her sanctuary life, she was used in biomedical research. But she began her life living in a human home. This was very unsafe and unfortunate. Because of her early upbringing, Jamie is often interested in objects that humans use in their everyday lives, like paper and pens. She particularly likes to "write" on paper that already has typing or writing on it. We're glad to be able to give her things that make her happy and keep her active mind occupied.
