In dubstep, post processing can be everything, but not really.
No amount of OTTs and distortion can save an essentially thin sound.
A lot of fatness depends on your initial sound design - which carries over until the final stages of mixing and mastering, for better or for worse.
The formula for fatness is - push it until it breaks, then dial it back.
