On June 22, 2024 officers from the Ocean Ridge Police Department responded to a backup call from another officer about a fleeing vehicle.
When they arrived, officers found Malaika Segal visibly intoxicated. As they attempted to detain her, she grew increasingly agitated, later escalating to striking an officer in the jail cell.
