The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module for allegedly plotting to convert hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, Anantnag, and Badgam districts into weapons storage centres, a tactic similar to that used by Hamas in Gaza. The investigation, which follows the unravelling of a plot connected to the Red Fort blast, is also exploring technical support from Hamas to the Jaish module, with six individuals arrested so far. Former Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikram Singh stated, 'This is something akin to a disease that is almost terminal. But yes, it is not the problem of India alone. It is a universal problem. And there are international best practices we can adopt'. The NIA is investigating the recovery of weapons from doctors' lockers and the module's plans to assemble drones and rockets.
