If you lived in Silicon Valley several years ago, you probably always wondered what those large Navy planes flying continuously out of Moffett Field were doing. Andy Pease will be joining us to talk about P-3 Orion’s anti-submarine mission during the cold war. All they had to do was patrol the Pacific Ocean to find and track invisible submarines. Andy will be talking about the:
• Life of a Naval aviator, and how it captures a kid’s imagination
• Orion P-3 4-turboprop plane and its capabilities
• Anti-submarine warfare
• The ditching and rescue of a P-3 Flight out of Adak, Alaska
Noel heard Andy speak at the SAM 21 club and was revetted by his story and thought our club would also benefit from hearing about these naval heroes and their plane.
