How Concrete Culverts Are Made for the Sunyani Outer Ring Road Drainage System 4K - E33

Today I visited the production site where dozens of reinforced concrete culverts are being cast for the Suyani Outer Ring Road drainage system. This is where the real groundwork begins—before the culverts are transported and installed along streams, waterways, and low-lying sections of the new highway.

At the site, workers were mixing, pouring, and compacting concrete into large circular culvert moulds. Others were operating equipment to vibrate and strengthen the concrete for durability. The entire area is filled with freshly prepared culvert rings, showing the huge scale of drainage work planned for the outer ring road project.

This behind-the-scenes view highlights the massive engineering effort going into controlling water flow and protecting the future highway from erosion and flooding. These culverts will channel stormwater safely, ensuring long-lasting road quality for years to come.
