Solo Female Foreigner's First HOLI in PUSHKAR 🇮🇳 India Travel Vlog

HAPPY HOLI!!!! Since I arrived in India on December 30th, EVERYONE has been telling me to try to go to Pushkar for Holi and I'm so glad I did!!! It was the best first Holi experience ever and I definitely recommend playing Holi in Pushkar - even as a solo female traveler! I met so many amazing people at my hostel that I was able to play Holi with, and I also ran into my fellow YouTube friends ‪@mikeandashley‬ !!! Check out their vlog for more Holi fun!

I started the vlog by shopping for some necessary Holi supplies: a white Holi shirt, some glasses with good eye coverage, colored Holi powder, and some coconut oil to stop the powder from dying your skin too much. The night before Holi I went to the big bonfire in the center of Pushkar (Holika Dahanam). I was so lucky that my one hostel friend told me to meet her up at the Madam D'Souza restaurant. It had an amazing view of the bonfire and was also a lot more calm than being down in the crowd - especially as we saw two cows stampede into the crowd right before the bonfire started!!! It was SO scary! But still a really cool experience. The following morning we got up early, covered ourselves in coconut oil, and headed out into the streets of Pushkar to play Holi! It was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!! Almost everyone was very respectful as well! Honestly the worst was the little kids as they didn't realize they were getting powder in your mouth/eyes/everywhere 😅 We met so many amazing people and took probably one million selfies the whole day, but we loved it! I was also so surprised that the police were going out of their way to look out for us and make sure we were comfortable having pictures taken and stuff during Holi! Overall it was an amazing experience that I would recommend everyone to do!!! After I showered for about an hour and shampooed my hair 4 times, but all the color came off 🤗🤗🤗
