獨特的木板店鋪 Unique Wooden Shop Houses // 美冷車站 Behrang Stesen

Behrang Stesen is a small town located in southern part of Perak, Malaysia, about 12km away from Tanjong Malim.

I was gifted two M42 mount lenses from a friend in October. One is the Helios 44M-4 and the other is Carl Zeiss Jena 29mm. Due to a span of few years my friend didn't store this 2 lenses in dry cabinet, there were some fungus in the optics.

So I did some cleaning myself, and the Helios came out very clean and ready for action. Whereas the Carl Zeiss Jena is in a little beat up condition even after cleaning due to its coating being peeled off from the inner, front and back lens elements. So it flares like crazy and a little soft when shooting wide open up to f4.0. pretty usable from f5.6 to f11. The Helios also flares quite a bit than my other lenses when against the sun but not as bad as the Carl Zeiss Jena.

Overall these 2 are a pair of good "effect" lenses but they require more attention during shoot and color grading stage.

Color graded to own taste using FilmUnlimited power grade as base, added film grain and halation.
