Our latest episode of Chronicles of the Desert is about one of our more recent saints, Ephraim of Katounakia and his experience with St. Joseph the Hesychast. When St. Ephraim was a young monk, he met St. Joseph and began visiting him for spiritual counsel. Through the guidance of this great ascetic, St. Ephraim learned about the Jesus Prayer and watchfulness, or interior vigilance.
