We set out on a trail buried deep in fir and cedar, up endless switchbacks through shadows and mist. Hours later, a lake like painted glass, glaciers thaw glinting off the surface, and mountains rising all around. There’s something humbling about it, raw nature that wipes away all the noise.

It wasn’t easy, a solid climb, some icy patches, and lots of forest before the mountains revealed themselves. But once we hit the alpine, wow. Majestic peaks, glacial-blue water, and a kind of peace you almost can’t find these days. For anyone craving a challenge with a payoff, this hike is gold.
