The 2025 version of the annual Rhino Rally desert race in St. George Utah was a wild one. Had it been a week earlier, we would have had perfect conditions in the desert. Instead, it was another dusty race where a good start was imperative. As a result, I managed a horrible start and just kind of settled in where I could. I was familiar with the general course as this was the same as 2021, but they changed things up a bit and I loved the changes. The biggest change was on the shorter second loop we went up Dutchman Draw and there was plenty of carnage and positions gained or lost. In the end, I finished safely and had a great time. My desert racing "career" started at the Rhino Rally over 23 years ago so I always enjoy it when I can add another finisher pin to my collection.
