NEW! I added my recipes and ingredients to this description. Going forward I will always provide this information. I don't believe in secret ingredients or formulas. I will always be transparent about what I'm using! If I leave anything out, it's not intentional ever. I want your to succeed and I will do whatever I can to provide the tools you need to get there!
Welcome back! And a big BIG welcome and thank you to my subscribers, new and current. Thank you so much for your patience as I muddled through a disastrous week on top of being sick. I'm feeling much better and ready to take all the crazy ideas that rolled around in my head all week and turn them into experiments and videos.
There is no intro or outro for this video because it was already long and I didn't want to cut content and shortchange anyone who needed all the little bits and pieces that made these fluidart pieces work. I am also working on a new intro/outro, writing down all my ideas for future videos, researching new camera options(ANY suggestions appreciated!) and deciding what kind of content is enjoyed most and most useful. I have a couple videos on epoxy resin in mind, some small building projects I'd love to share and lots of other ideas. If there's anything you would like to see, by all means, comment below.
I am recording a video later today covering Amsterdam pearl paint custom color creation. I need to mix new batches so I thought it was a great idea to take you all along! I also hope to throw together a quick resin mold video, maybe tomorrow. This barrage of projects and ideas are the result of being sick and unable to do much. The ideas still come, I just have to be patient with myself to not push too hard. I keep a notebook going(and you should too!).
I love and appreciate all of you, I want to see and hear what you need or want from me. Here all all the ways to reach out to me:
Direct email: [email protected] Please be patient, I get a lot of emails and want to respond to every single one!
HERE ARE MY RECIPES FOR ALL THE PAINTS USED! My black pillow is Sherwin Williams Color to go in tricor black. My white pillow is PPG MultiPro eggshell, the paint code is 47-3110. The "pillow" is the base you pour first on your tiles(or whatever you choose to pour on).
My bloom colors are these exact measurements: Use a scale, it helps enormously! 10 grams of tube paint, 10 grams of water-based gloss or high gloss varnish( this can be liquitex gloss varnish, minwax polycrylic in gloss, Josonja gloss varnish, your preference, any water-based gloss varnish), 30 grams of untinted deep base gloss housepaint....I use either Behr 8300 which is their base 3 or c gloss OR Glidden Premium Base 3 untinted. If you're not sure while you're at home depot, ask! after I incorporate all 3 of these ingredients, I add distilled water a few drops at a time until it's thin enough to run off the mixing stick and leave a small mound. You can play with the consistency until you find one that works best for you. If you want to use mica pigments such as This Little Piggie or Colorarte, use a full teaspoon of pigment, it must be high quality pure pigment. Cheaply produced pigments require more and give less than stellar results. Put your gloss varnish in your cup first then add your pigment and stir until fully dissolved, then add the rest of your ingredients.
This next part is very specific! I only use Amsterdam tube paints for my cell activator. I have not been able to make other brands work. My cell activator is 10 grams of amsterdam paint, 20 grams of American floetrol and 10 grams of water. Mix well between each addition. I then use a small plastic pipette to add 20 drops of minwax prestain wood conditioner. I always need to add a small amount of distilled water to thin this mix after. Your cell activator works best if its quite thin, meaning it runs off your mixing stick without leaving any mound or trace. Metallic paints will be slightly thicker by nature and that is fine, they still work. I only use this formula, I do not know if other products will work the same. If I try one I will let my viewers know if it worked or failed. It's extremely important to mix this very well every single time you use it to re-incorporate the oil based wood conditioner, it does separate.

My storefront where I sell my artistic work: https://www.michaels.com/makerplace/s...
It is very time consuming to prepare and list items for sale. That being said, I am trying to get as much listed as available. I do have a large trove of items to sell, not everything is listed yet! Everything I sell is my own design, creation and production. I am always looking for less costly options for shipping. Thank you again!
