My BROTHER and comrade and former MARINE BOB SAURWEIN sent me these 3 meals from a case from 1982
I forgot to get specific date codes for each ration However the contents ranged from 1981-1983
The BEEF PATTY is menu 3. FRANKFURTERS is menu 8. The SPAGHETTI menu 5, had fairly newer versions of accessory paks and other differences. It is listed as not being put out until 1989/90 but, I distinctly remember eating this menu in bootcamp🤷 It said menu 5. This menu is from 1991. I incorrectly said 81 and the TABASCO was from 1991.
I did not get sick from any of these rations even though the BEEF PATTY MENU was very bad. The spoon from the BEEF PATTY menu was stained from the beef soup/gravy base that was contained in the ration.
I have never heard of the MRE SHELF STABLE BREAD. Interesting to know where THAT came from. I do not know what the total calories are for each menu? I would assume anywhere from 1000-1100?
