Union Pacific’s Santa Margarita Turn with patched Cotton Belt 1068 works on Saturdays train from Watsonville Jct in Pajaro on UP’s Coast Subdivision down to Paso Robles, CA. The crew arrives in Paso with a new engineer and a pilot, making for a legal quick shuffle of power before continuing north. Paso, San Miguel, Bradley, San Ardo, King City, Metz, and Chualar. On the way south it served the Spence pallet yard, Camphor, and San Lucas customers. The crew is from the six days a week Rock Job call, otherwise Monday through Friday moving Graniterock crushed granite between Aromas, CA and Port of Redwood City. 7/19/25
