Baluarte Zoo, located in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, is a wildlife park founded by businessman and former governor Luis “Chavit” Singson. Originally built as his private rest house in the early 1990s, it later grew into a public attraction showcasing local and exotic animals.

The zoo spans over 100 hectares of scenic hills and plains and features animal shows, a butterfly sanctuary, and the Safari Gallery — home to Singson’s personal trophy collection. Today, it’s one of Ilocos Sur’s top tourist spots, offering both fun and education for visitors of all ages.
