Getting Blown Off Mount Shasta!

My buddy, Chris, and I attempted to climb and ski Mount Shasta by the Avalanche Gulch route in early June 2019. 14,180-foot high Mount Shasta is just an hour from where I live and I have climbed it many times over the years. The weather has also stopped me from reaching the summit many times. This was one of those times. The wind made going to the summit dangerous, so we made the decision to descend from just below 12,000 feet. We witnessed shredded tents, people who were injured by flying ice chunks, a guy take a 500-foot slide/fall and a helicopter rescue. We stayed safe so we can come back another day.
