Hey everyone! In today’s video, we’ll walk you through how to test electromagnetic relays without needing high voltages. All you’ll need is a basic multimeter—no complex equipment required!
We’ll be working with the IOTMUG I2C 16-channel electromagnetic relay board, which is compatible with both Arduino and Raspberry Pi. This method will help you verify whether your relays are functioning properly and if they can handle AC voltages. Since relays essentially work as switches, we’ll use the multimeter in resistance mode to check their behavior.
I’ll show you how to use the multimeter’s continuity or sound feature to test the relay’s contacts, confirming that one side is “closed” (on) and the other side is “open” (off) when activated. You’ll also learn how to check cables using this same approach, which is helpful for diagnosing potential issues.
By following along with the step-by-step process, you’ll see how easy and safe it is to test relays without the need for high-voltage equipment—perfect for electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists, or anyone looking to understand relay functionality better!
