This was my first real laser level. I had a cheap Ryobi one before this. In my opinion, having a good laser level is essential now a days to get good plumb and level results out of any project. I know you can get the same results using the old school method, but this way is flawless. When I first got this level, I was continually checking it because i didn't trust it. So, after checking it over and over and the laser was always perfect, I stopped checking. The only draw back is having a red laser line is not good for exterior work. Spend a little more money and get a green line laser.
