I Am Iapetus

Iapetus is one of the ancient Titans of Greek mythology, born before Olympus, before thunder ruled the sky. He is not the Titan of the seas or the heavens, but of something far more unsettling — fate, mortality, and the limits of human existence.

Often described as the Titan of mortality, Iapetus represents the fragile boundary between gods and humans. Through his sons — Prometheus, the fire-bringer; Atlas, the bearer of the sky; Epimetheus, the fool of hindsight; and Menoetius, the embodiment of reckless violence — Iapetus shaped the destiny of mankind itself.

While Zeus claimed victory and the Olympians rewrote the world, Iapetus paid a quieter price. Condemned to Tartarus after the Titanomachy, his legacy did not die with him. It lived on in human defiance, curiosity, suffering, and hope.
