Newport Carnival celebrated its 100-year carnival celebrations by putting on the biggest carnival Newport has seen in around 40 years.
The main procession followed a vehicle parade at 7pm leaving Church Litten, South Street and Town Lane for the most extensive form up in recent decades.
Organisers have worked tirelessly over the past 2 years to make this year one to remember.
The 25-minute-long parade cascaded its way around Newport and finished at The Quay around 2 hours after it set off.
The next carnival for Newport is their Illuminated procession which is to be held on Thursday 25th August at 9pm.
