STRATFORD-UPON-AVON PARKRUN Event #364 - Super Fast Course!

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON PARKRUN! A great parkrun located in the West Midlands around Stratford-upon-Avon Recreation Grounds! This very flat parkrun utilises mainly hardstanding tarmac paths, however, there is a small section on grass. It is a stunning parkrun, with lots to see and definitely have a look around the town after the run! Join me as I provide an in-depth review of the Stratford-upon-Avon Parkrun experience.

The course is three laps, and starts and finishes close to the football pavilion near the car park and the children's play area. The course heads in a clockwise direction around the Recreation Ground including a section along the Avon opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. At the end of the third lap, the finish is on the grass next to the path. The course is mainly on tarmac paths so ordinary road shoes are the best choice; in extreme conditions wearing trail shoes may be useful.

Dogs and buggies/prams are allowed at this parkrun and there are toilets near to the start at the pavillion on the recreation grounds. As the route is predominantly on hardstanding paths, road shoes are perfectly find, however, in the wet months trail shoes would be recommended. In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it has an average number of participants of around 365. At the start around the corner there is a bottleneck, however, as you get into the run there is plenty of space for overtaking to get to your pace. With it being a very flat parkrun, it definitely has the potential for a PB!

The weather great on the day was a bit miserable with a little bit of rain. However, the atmosphere was great and there were some great volunteers to keep you going! This is the 43rd parkrun I have recorded on the channel of which you can find a playlist of them below:
