As part of the Spa Valley Railways 25th anniversary celebrations, West Country Class No.34092 City of Wells paid a visit to the line from its home on the East Lancashire Railway.
A week after a dedicated event for the anniversary, the railway hosted a 'City of Wells' Steam Up weekend, which would see 34092 haul 6 trains from Eridge to Tunbridge Wells West, with Class 24 D5054, also from the ELR, hauling the train from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge.
Captured on the Sunday of the weekend, both City of Wells (wearing golden arrow regalia) and D5054 are seen at various locations along the line making a great performance throughout. This would be the last event for the pair before they would head back to their home on the ELR, and this was also one of 34092's last duties as it will soon be withdrawn for overhaul.
Having attempted to film 34092 at the Mid Hants Railway last year in some torrential downpours, it was a lot nicer to see it properly this time on the Spa Valley.
