[OTH 8x11] Brooke Davis | Hero

There's a storm. Brooke and Julian have had a fight about moving away from Tree Hill. Brooke storms out and starts driving about in the rain.

Meanwhile, Jamie and Madison are competing against each other in a spelling bee while Chuck is in the audience and Lauren asks them to spell the words. Jamie wants to go home with Lauren, Chuck and Madison and Haley and Nathan reluctantly agree due to the storm.

Brooke almost runs over a blooded-up Chuck who is standing in the middle of the road by a bridge. He is told to go sit in Brooke's car while she tries to get everyone else out of the car.

Lauren has passed out and Jamie is trapped. Brooke gets Madison out with ease and she is told to go sit with Chuck and keep him awake. Brooke fears he has a concussion.

Julian, while out trying to find Brooke, stumbles upon the scene and at that moment a car, trying to avoid a broken electric cable, crashes into the back of the car in which Jamie is still trapped and Brooke is sitting in. They get pushed into the lake.

As Julian jumps in to rescue them, the driver speeds off. The river is low and they seem quite safe in the car until all of a sudden the levee breaks and water gushes towards the car.

Julian manages to get Jamie out safely and to the bank of the river and he runs up on to the bridge to watch. The water gushes in and Brooke is trapped by the steering column. Julian tries to retrieve the crowbar Brooke used to take out the windscreen. In this time Brooke is completely submerged and is relying on Julian giving her oxygen. She stops breathing.

As Julian pulls a still Brooke from out of the car and on to the bank of the river and to the bridge, he tells Jamie to go to the end of the bridge in case any cars come.

Julian begins giving Brooke CPR and, at that moment, Nathan and Haley (after getting a flat tyre on the road) find Jamie in the middle of the road, where Julian told him to sit. He says "Aunt Brooke is dead" as Julian frantically tries to revive her.

It seems Brooke has drowned. All of a sudden, while Julian, Nathan and Haley grieve, a twitch in Brooke's hand occurs and she coughs up water.

A relieved Julian holds Brooke in his embrace and she's going to be OK...
