PRICE:
At the time of this recording the stand retails for just $15.99.
IN THE BOX:
You get the mic stand in 2 parts, the threaded mic adapter, and a washer.
BUILD:
The stand weighs in at 2.6 pounds.
It has a round 5.88” (149mm) cast-iron weighted base with a height range of 9.5” to 14.5”.
The base features rubber feet to minimize movement and unwanted noise.
The tubing is made of heavy-duty steel.
Universal Mic Compatibility: Fits both ⅝” and ⅜” threaded mics.
And the locking washer helps mitigate the mic spinning on the stand
PROS:
Price $15.99.
Very solid build for the price.
The ability to extend the height is very useful.
Connects with both ⅝” and ⅜” threads.
Included washer can mitigate mic spinning.
The stand holds up great against desk bumps.
They say this stand can be used for kick drums and low-profile speaker cabinets.
CONS:
Doesn’t come with a plastic mic cable clip like the more expensive versions do.
Bad resonance.
Would not be suitable for extremely heavy microphones like the Neat King Bee II.
OVERALL:
I find this desktop mic stand to be a great addition to my home studio. While I do own multiple microphone boom arms, they simply don’t offer the convenience this mic stand does.
