MADNESS. `EMBARRASSMENT`. Live piano cover of the 1980 Madness single.

This is my cover of the 1980 original studio recording of `Embarrassment`,
which came out on the `Absolutely` album, & was also released as a 7" single later that year.

I`ve painstakingly tried to re-create exactly how Mike Barson would have performed this song in the studio, back in 1980.
(He plays it a bit differently today).

Straight after is a video of my isolated piano from the same recording.


Mike Barson used a Yamaha CP80 (or CP70) electric grand piano to record `Embarrassment` back in 1980,
so i`m using my Yamaha CP80 electric grand preset that I created on my Yamaha CP88.

Mike told me he wasn`t happy using that Yamaha CP80 piano on the record, as he wasn`t that keen on them, (even though he used to tour with one), but Clive Langer said it was a good take & so they used it.
He said he wishes he`d redone it with a real piano.
He always likes to use the real thing on a recording if possible.

Mike said `Embarrassment` was the only record he didn`t use a real piano on, but i`m sure I can hear a CP80 on `Solid Gone`, & `Disappear`.

Mike used a Yamaha CP70 & a CP80 live from 1980 to 1982, when he switched to a Kawai EP-308 electric grand, which he said he`d forgotten all about the Kawai until I mentioned it.
He said he had fond memories of the Kawai, unlike the Yamaha.

I have never met Mike, but years ago when I used to be on Facebook, (2011), I was fortunate enough to exchange a few messages with him, where he kindly told me of some of his memories of his past equipment, that i`ve mentioned above.
