It was March 27, 1977, a day that would mark the deadliest accident in aviation history. KLM Flight 4805, a Boeing 747 leaving Amsterdam, was headed for the sunny skies of Gran Canaria. But when a bomb threat shut down Las Palmas Airport, it was diverted to the small island of Tenerife. Fully fueled for the return trip, the giant jet sat waiting on the crowded tarmac.

The events discussed in this video involve tragic losses of life. May everyone who lost their lives in these events rest in peace.
