Metro de Madrid L3 y Renfe Cercanías C4 y C5 | Estación de Villaverde Alto

Español: Villaverde Alto es una estación de las líneas C-4 y C-5 de Cercanías Madrid y de la línea 3 de Metro de Madrid, situada entre las calles de Domingo Párraga y Valle de Tobalina, en el barrio de San Andrés en el Distrito Sur Villaverde.

La estación Ferroviaria fue abierta desde el año 1876 siendo desde 1879 el punto en que se dividían las dos líneas ferroviarias que partían con destino a Lisboa y a Ciudad Real. Las obras corrieron a cargo de la Compañía de los Ferrocarriles de Madrid a Cáceres y Portugal (MCP), que la gestionó hasta que en 1928 pasó a manos de la recién creada Compañía Nacional de los Ferrocarriles del Oeste. Denominada inicialmente como «Villaverde-Nueva» —para hacer diferencia de la otra estación que existía en el municipio—, con posterioridad las instalaciones serían conocidas como «Villaverde-Oeste» y, desde agosto de 1944, como «Villaverde-Orcasitas». En el año 1941 la estación se integró en la red de RENFE.

Desde los años 1980 se incorporaron a la red de Cercanías Madrid formando parte de las líneas C-4 y C-5 y se reformó para evitar que los viajeros tuvieran que cruzar las vías a nivel.

La estación de metro L3 fue inaugurada el 21 de abril de 2007, situada debajo de las vias de cercanías y también fue la terminal de la línea 3 hasta el 20 de abril de 2025, con la ampliación futura hasta El Casar. Con motivo de las construcciones de la llegada del metro, la estación sufrió una gran reforma, instalando ascensores, renovando andenes e incorporando dos nuevas salidas, al tiempo que se clausura el antiguo edificio de viajeros, a día de hoy en pie y sin proyectos para su derribe.

English: Villaverde Alto is a station on the C-4 and C-5 lines of the Madrid Cercanías commuter rail network and line 3 of the Madrid Metro, located between Domingo Párraga and Valle de Tobalina streets, in the San Andrés neighborhood of the Villaverde South District.

Trains from the Metro's 3000 series and Renfe Cercanías 446 and Civia 465 series trains serve the station. The railway station opened in 1876 and, from 1879, became the junction for the two railway lines that ran to Lisbon and Ciudad Real. Construction was carried out by the Madrid-Cáceres and Portugal Railway Company (MCP), which managed it until 1928 when it was taken over by the newly created National Western Railway Company. Initially named "Villaverde-Nueva"—to distinguish it from the other station in the municipality—the facilities were later known as "Villaverde-Oeste" and, from August 1944, as "Villaverde-Orcasitas". In 1941, the station was integrated into the RENFE network.

Since the 1980s, these stations have been part of the Cercanías Madrid commuter rail network, forming part of lines C-4 and C-5. The station was renovated to eliminate the need for passengers to cross the tracks at grade.

Metro station L3 was inaugurated on April 21, 2007, located beneath the commuter rail tracks. It also served as the terminus of Line 3 until April 20, 2025, with the planned extension to El Casar. Due to the construction of the metro line, the station underwent extensive renovations, including the installation of elevators, platform upgrades, and the addition of two new exits. The old passenger building was closed, but it remains standing today with no plans for its demolition.
