Tonight we continue our FAA Conversion journey with Lesson 4, focusing on the planning and execution of a full VFR cross-country flight under FAA regulations, using WINGS VFR Flight 5 as our practical foundation.

We’ll recap what we’ve learned about airspace, phraseology, and chart navigation, then take things further with a look at VFR route planning, weather briefings, dead reckoning, and how to operate safely into and out of non-towered airports.

Our focus will be on real-world FAA cross-country procedures — including preflight planning, interpreting METARs/TAFs, navigating using visual checkpoints and VORs, and managing CTAF communications like a pro.
