In this video, I show how to replace the waterpump on this 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi V8 Engine. It is probably the same process for a 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi. This water pump was leaking from the front of the housing behind the pulley. The bearing on the front of the water pump was trashed as well and had a lot of extra play in it. This caused the waterpump pulley to wobble all around. The truck smelled like antifreeze for the last month or two, so the pump has likely been weeping for quite some time.

Replacing the water pump itself is not very hard, but does take a few hours. The hardest part is removing the fan clutch from the water pump. Once you remove the fan and fan clutch, the rest is a piece of cake.

A few warnings you should know:
The fan clutch has reverse threads where it connects to the pump!
Removing the fan clutch from the water pump is a hassle. If you don’t have a air hammer / air chisel, it’s hard to do. Tapping the wrench while you turn it works a lot of the time if an air chisel is not available. If those don’t work, I have no other advice. It’s just hard and takes a lot of fiddling.
I don’t know the proper torque for the water pump bolts, but I went with 18 foot pounds. It seemed good to me.
