NDE at 12: The Raft With Jesus, a Silent Symphony, and Choosing to Return | Ellen Whealton

Ellen Whealton shares her NDE (near-death experience) and lessons from the other side based on her first-hand knowledge. It includes the immense web of love and support that is available to everyone at all times.

At age 12, a riding accident left Ellen in a coma with a dire prognosis. While her parents played old movies beside her bed, she had a near‑death experience (NDE), finding herself on a wooden raft on a pink cloud with Jesus across and a young, thin, bald man in brown robes at her left (whom she later recognized as Buddha). She was taken into a realm of light, color, and music—a love so vast she became it.

There, Ellen learned that we are perfect as we are, that our highest guidance lives within, and that living is a gift meant to be shared in service. She vowed: “If I return, I’ll heal with music.”
Back in the coma’s darkness, a rainbow music staff swept into her mind. She followed the faintest sound—Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty from the movie playing at her bedside—until it was booming…and she woke up in the ICU. The doctors called it a miracle.

Ellen also discusses how music bridged me back to my body (and how she uses it with head‑injured clients), practical ways to raise frequency (music, meditation, breath, essential oils), how to tell thoughts vs. true guidance, why gratitude, forgiveness, and surrender unlock healing, and a reminder: relationships and outpouring love are what truly matter

Common theories used to explain near-death experiences have been proven inadequate by NDE researchers and others. Research has shown near-death experiences are NOT caused by the following:

· Dying brain (e.g., the brain is hallucinating as cells begin to die)
· Lack of oxygen to the brain
· By-product of brain disorders
· Medication and neurochemical reactions in general
· Hallucinations from altered blood gas levels (e.g., hypoxia or hypercapnia)
· Brain mechanisms designed to make dying easier for humans
· Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) being released by the body
