The annual Mary Strauss Women in the Arts lecture was given by Furio Rinaldi, Curator in Charge of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts in the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Rinaldi in revisits the path-defining career, layered artistry, and adventurous life of Tamara de Lempicka, one of the great protagonists of the artistic scene in the early 20th century. This lecture was in conjunction with the first US-museum retrospective of de Lempicka’s work in San Francisco and Houston, and in preparation for SLAM’s exhibition "Roaring: Art, Fashion, and the Automobile in France."
