Two Marvel books this week that feel like Halloween issues but came out ten days late! On November 11th, 1967, Avengers #48 and X-Men #40 hit the stands. Magneto is back to bullying Wanda and Pietro, the Black Knight tries to prove he’s not a villain, and the X-Men fight Frankenstein’s Monster (who turns out to be a robot from a rogue tropical planet). Roy Thomas writes both, with Don Heck on X-Men and George Tuska joining as artist on Avengers. Low stakes, light fun, and a weirdly charming post-Halloween double feature.
