Dr. Rachelle Crosbie-Watson is a professor in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology at UCLA with a joint appointment in the Department of Neurology.
Executive Director of Coalition Duchenne, Catherine Jayasuriya, interviews Dr. Crosbie-Watson about the creation of the first university Duchenne specific course at UCLA. The course garnered a 2013 Chancellors Distinguished Teaching Award and will be offered as an online version that will be available to all UC campuses and beyond.
The Crosbie lab at UCLA is focussed on key Duchenne research. Dr. Crosbie-Watson has made a significant contribution to the world of Duchenne and her students will go on to change the outlook for boys and young men with the Duchenne.
Dr. Crosbie-Watson works closely with Dr. Stan Nelson, Dr. Carrie Miceli, Dr. Melissa Spencer and other outstanding researchers at UCLA and with the collaborative Center for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (CDMD).
In 2014, Coalition Duchenne awarded Dr. Crosbie-Watson the Lotus Award for her outstanding contribution to Duchenne muscular dystrophy education and research.
