Hey! :D I hope you all enjoy my first full Smallville video in AGES. :P Last full one was my Clana "Hummingbird Heartbeat" vid that I posted July, 2011 believe it or not. I've made lots of collab parts and multi-fandoms and stuff with Smallville since then though. This is a late wishlist gift for xmortalgirl. She still vids Clana and she's awesome. ;) We have a few fandoms in common and I've participated in collabs she's hosted and she's making a Lana character study as a wishlist gift for me.

So... obviously this is a very popular Taylor Swift song that a lot of people have been vidding lately - both this original, and some of the various cover versions as well. I'm partial to Tyler Ward's gorgeous cover. Part of me wanted to vid a male cover version like his and make this vid all Clark's POV - and all in all it probably could've worked just as well as Lana's POV did end up working. Some lyrics fit Lana better, others Clark better in my opinion - but I decided to go with the original Taylor Swift version and make this 100% Lana's POV. I was careful to not use times when Lana's in Clark's dreams like in 3x04 "Slumber" or 6x12 "Labyrinth" because it's supposed to be Lana's POV and in his dreams, she's not having thoughts lol. Same with like when she's possessed by Isobel or something - it's not Lana so I didn't use it. I tried my best to match every single lyric as best I could given the context of what actually happened on the show. All in all I think this song fits Clana perfectly. ;)

Taylor Swift revealed the meaning behind her album's title ("Red", which is also this song's title):

"All the different emotions that are written about on this album are all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I've experienced in the last two years. All those emotions — spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that — in my mind, all those emotions are red. You know, there's nothing in between. There's nothing beige about any of those feelings."


I only started watching Beauty and the Beast because of Kristin Kreuk, and her character on that show (Catherine aka Cat aka Cath) is so much like Lana in my opinion... so I think that show and everyone making epic Vincent/Catherine vids really got me back in a Clana mood, especially from Lana's perspective. I love looking through the 7+ seasons KK was on Smallville and seeing her awesome acting, especially now when she's the lead on BatB. :P

So... I vidded the entire song. And it was fun. ;) This is like my 10th? video set to a Taylor Swift song...? Lol.

I am going to host a collab for my own birthday, which is coming up later this month (January 22nd), and I've been struggling to decide on a theme or a song. I think now this conversation I'm having with myself as I'm typing this description might be pushing me in the direction of hosting it set to a Taylor Swift song that I love but never vidded myself. :P So yeah... stay tuned for that.
