Accessibility Audit FAQ: Are Issue Severity Ratings Inside Audit Report?

Instead of general markers like urgent, critical, or important, Accessible.org uses User Impact and Risk Factor formulas within their Accessibility Tracker platform. These formulas assign specific scores to each individual issue along with designations, allowing you to sort precisely rather than having a cluster of issues marked as critical without knowing where to start.User Impact identifies issues that have the most impact on the most users and are most likely to cause barriers to access.

All WCAG success criteria are important, but this formula helps clients understand which issues matter most to the most people. Risk Factor is data-driven, based on serial litigation in website accessibility cases in the U.S.

It assigns scores to issues most commonly claimed by the most active plaintiff law firms.In the Accessibility Tracker dashboard, you can see both scores for each issue. For example, one issue might have a User Impact score of 81 (high), another 82 (medium-high), another 75 (medium), and so on. You can sort by the highest scores and work from top to bottom in a matter of seconds.

There's significant overlap between the two formulas, but you can choose whichever works best for your organization.You can also customize priorities by adding your own designations of high, medium, or low if you prefer. Simply upload any audit report to Accessibility Tracker and immediately start sorting and prioritizing using these thoughtfully developed formulas.
