Our Spain trip spanned 26 days across Seville, Cádiz, Málaga, Granada and Valencia. The only travel accommodations we paid for were the trains and bus to get from city to city, totaling $404.49 (to be exact) for 2 people 💃🏻 🕺🏼 This isn't tied to Spain though...you can do what we did and go anywhere for less than $500...or even free! How did we do it?
👉 All of our stays, except for 2 nights in Granada, were arranged through HomeExchange.com where we swapped homes with people using guest points. People stayed in our home and we stayed in other homes. It required a lot of planning but we love traveling this way.
👉 We used credit card points to stay in a hotel in Granada and also used points to buy our flights. About 5ish years ago, we started putting almost all of our expenses on a @chase Sapphire Reserve credit card to earn as many points as possible (this card has SO many great benefits besides points), and I put all of my business expenses on a @chase Ink Business Preferred card. The great thing about this setup is we can pool all of our points together to spend them on travel, or anything really.
👉 To travel for free, do everything above but stay in one place OR use your credit card points to rent a car to get from place to place.
🗣️ For things to see and do, we got great recommendations from friends and locals, and also used @monocletravel1823, @atlasobscura, @GetYourGuide and @airbnb experiences to get ideas.
🙅🏻♀️ I’m not being sponsored or paid to promote any of this. I’m just a girl sharing how we did it to help you do it too. If you want, of course.
