Northeast India Film Festival 2023 | A Celebration of Art & Culture | NFDC Mumbai

Join us for a glimpse into the vibrant and diverse artistic heritage of Northeast India! The Northeast Film Festival 2023, a three-day extravaganza, was held at the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Mumbai from March 24 to 26. The festival was graced by the esteemed film director Rahul Rawail as the guest of honour for the inaugural program.

Organized to encourage and promote content creators from the Northeastern states, this festival featured a rich selection of films and documentaries showcasing the unique culture, traditions, and stories from Northeast India. The event was initiated by Pooja Sharma, Chairperson of the Sikkim Film Promotion Board, and included a special note by Prithul Kumar, Joint Secretary (Films), Ministry of I&B and MD of NFDC.

The festival was led by Festival Director Rebecca Changkija Sema, producer at Find Studioz, and Joint Director Shiraz Henry, a renowned film director. Renowned film personalities from Bollywood and senior officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also attended the festival, adding to the grandeur of the event.

In this three-day event, masterclasses were held by renowned Bollywood celebrities, enriching the experience for all attendees. Around 50 films, short films, and documentaries from Northeast India were screened at NFDC, Pedder Road screens.
