In 1985 the Great Western Railway celebrated its 150th birthday with an comprehensive programme of special steam tours.
This film by Nick Lera features many of these tours including footplate running on "Clun Castle", steam on the Cornish main line, a "castle" on shed at St. Blazey, double-headed "Castle's" on the Devon Banks and along the coast at Dawlish, "City of Truro" in action for the first time in 24 years, steam on shed at Bristol Bath Road, Swindon to Gloucester specials climbing Sapperton Bank, a Great Western 2-8-0 hauling freight on the main line, and the steam hauled "Shakespeare Express" hauled from Stratford to Birmingham.
This is an almost 40 year old video which is showing evidence of magnetic resonance decay but has good sound.
