John Hickling Memorial Stages Rally Crashes & Highlights, 3/8/25

Somewhere new and back to the world of rallying with the John Hickling Memorial Stages on the site of the former RAF Fulbeck airbase, a fantastic piece of single venue rallying land with ditches that could rival that of any Scandinavian rally!

Bit of a last minute call this so a big thanks has to go out to the organizers for giving it a pass. I think this is an event that serves the memory of John very well. A ton of fun and fairly drama free, but still a challenge to competitors, with a surprising number of early issues for a few people but most got back out by lunch time! Thoroughly enjoyable, just shocking that so many of these events on these sorts of lands have vanished in recent times. They really are pivotal to UK rallying's continued existence!

Dan Bird & Emma Morrison would win this one comfortably by the end, with a pretty flawless drive throughout. But a last minute entry by the ever-spectacular Kevin Proctor & Les Wray looked to initially make life a bit harder for the eventual event winners, had car troubles in the morning not robbed Proctor & Wray of a couple of stages. The drive that followed made for some great video, until they found a Fiesta sized ditch on the final stage! 2nd overall and Class 4 honors would go to Adam Holt & Daniel Briggs, and 3rd overall and class 3 winners would be Dave and Paige Bellerby
