Music Train - Trem da Música (photo book) Kickstarter Campaign

My name is Camila Pastorelli, I am a Brazilian photographer and producer, and I have been living in London since 2020.

Those who know me know that the ‘Festas Juninas’ (June Festivals) season is my favourite time of the year – I like it more than Christmas! And MUSIC TRAIN is exactly about this.

In 2014, I had the chance to photograph a ‘June Festival Train’ in the countryside of Brazil, in Pindamonhangaba, the town where I grew up. It was a transformative experience because I realised the power of photography in my life, and how much good it does me.

MUSIC TRAIN (Trem da Música) has already been exhibited in the countryside of São Paulo and in metro stations in the capital. I always wanted this series to become a book, and it was during the pandemic in 2020 that I started putting the project into practice – selecting the images, starting to sketch out the design, format…

In 2022, I managed to do a test print, a ‘dummy book’, to be able to test the size, format, paper, number of pages... There are so many details!

A few more years passed, as I was trying to reconcile multiple jobs with this personal project, and here we are: 2025, MUSIC TRAIN, with your help, will become a book!
