FuzzWah - Vintage Fuzz & Auto-Wah Plugin (AUv3)
FuzzWah is an audio effect plugin that can run standalone, or in any AU compatible host application such as Logic Pro or GarageBand.
Overview
FuzzWah combines two classic effects in one plugin that can be used independently or in series. The fuzz box and wah-wah pedal were among the earliest guitar effects pedals and remain very popular to this day. While I think FuzzWah does work great with guitar, it can also produce interesting results on pretty much anything from drums, synths and even vocals. FuzzWah wasn't designed to be a clones or models of specific hardware effects, but it does draw inspiration from those classic units from the 1960's and 70's, then adds a few extra features. The fuzz section includes an optional "Vintage" mode for a rounder warmer tone, and a Skew option for dialling in that classic gnarly fuzz "ripping" sound. The wah section adds 4 selectable frequency ranges, and an "Auto" (envelope-follower) mode for funky filter auto-wah effects! FuzzWah also includes a simple "set it / forget it" noise gate to keep your signal nice and clean.
About This Demo
Recorded direct from AUM using a Gibson SG Junior (no edits) straight into the Rubix22 audio interface. No additional processing. I'm using the FuzzWah auto-wah mode (no external expression controls). The (W) indicator in the FuzzWah plugin window shows how the input signal is modulating the wah sweep / cutoff.
FuzzWah is going into ANALOGyAMP which I think is a nice combination. Just like in the real world, I think fuzzes sound best going into slightly driven amps / on the edge of breakup.
Rhythm section is from a pre-recorded Toontrack EZDrums + EZBass project created in Logic on Mac, bounced to file and loaded into the AUM File Player. I'm also using LevLr2 in a mix bus to add some compression.
Please note that at the time of making this demo, the final parameter layout wasn't quite decided, that's why you don't see the whole UI. Hopefully there will be other demo videos released soon, that go through all the parameters in more detail. You can also see the final UI (and all parameters) in the App Store screenshots.

PS. Sorry for using the word "classic" about six times in various places :-)
