The TransAmerica Trail by Sam Correro is a most amazing route across the U.S. The TAT, as it’s often called, is mostly on Forest Service and BLM roads, with the occasional Jeep trail and two-lane paved highway. Intending to drive the entire length, my friend Ray and I spent twenty-two days along the TAT, completing the western half of the trail from Port Orford, Oregon to Buffalo, Oklahoma. While extensive forest fires and other challenges would force us to occasionally reroute, we’d complete an estimated eighty-five percent of the original route. Join us for an intimate look into the history, people, geology, sights and sounds of one incredible country. Part 10 covers days twenty through twenty-two, from a dispersed campsite in the San Isabel National Forest to the trip’s conclusion at Buffalo, Oklahoma.
Appended after the video is a presentation on tools and recovery gear I use. It starts at 19:10 if you wish to skip directly to it.
The music is “After All” by Geographer, and “Eveningland” by Rev. Both are available from the YouTube Audio Library.
