According to NJ State Standards, a child should:
Write first name with only the first letter capitalized
Write capital letters correctly from top down
Recognize upper and lowercase letters
Recognize numbers 1 to 10
Know basic 2D shapes-circle, triangle, rectangle and square
Hold scissors properly
Hold paper in hand and cut away from themselves
Cut on straight and circular lines
Hold pencil and crayon properly
Trace a simple pattern
Sit and listen to a short story
