We found this bike at an estate sale a couple year ago. It was advertised as being from the estate of the original owner, and the documents seem to agree. At that time, the license plate on it had expired in 1990, so we believe it was likely last ridden in about 1989...until now. It had been kept indoors, in the garage of the owners house during this time. So even though it was not being ridden, this is likely what kept it in good condition. We started the reconditioning of this bike back during the winter and recently finished it up. Be sure the check out the Youtube video we made of this bike at the link above. Usually when we bring a bike back to life after even as little as 5 years, they need a ton of parts. Other than a good cleaning, this bike really didn't need much in the way of new parts, so its a very original bike. We did install a fresh set of bodywork on it (tank and side covers) with new paint in the correct colors and striping. Unfortunately the front fender had received a nice dent during its time in storage, so we installed a new front fender but used the factory original fender braces. The bike also received a fresh pair of tires & tubes (IRC GS11's), new fuel petcock, new battery, and new rear shocks. Quite shockingly, the rubber parts in the front brake system and carburetors/airbox were all in great shape and didn't require replacement. The one controversial part that we did not replace is the original exhaust system. 2 crowds on this debate (maybe 3 crowds). Some guys think the more original the better, flaws and all (we tend to lean this direction). Some guys want their bikes to look like shiny new pennies, in absolute perfect restored condition. And crowd #3 would just prefer a cool 4 into 1 Kerker. We left the original pipes on it, even though they have the typical rust holes (see pics and video). We debated about installing a new reproduction exhaust, but hated to add more repop parts to such a low mileage bike....and the rust holes can't be seen from a standing position, so they're really not all the visible. BUT, if you're a member of crowd #2, and you purchase this motorcycle, we'd be willing to install a brand new repop exhaust set on it for you if you cover the cost of the new pipes, and we keep the original exhaust in exchange for the labor.
After we completed bringing this one back to life, we took it on a couple short test runs, totaling about 25 miles, and it did great. Nice smooth running engine like you would expect from a low mileage SOHC CB750. Makes you really feel like its 1976 again. This bike also comes with its original factory toolkit, owners manual in the sleeve, some original documentation, and 2 factory keys. Clean and clear Ohio title in our name.
Now all that said....please keep in mind this vintage motorcycle is 50 years old. It is a machine, and it is an old machine. It very possibly could break or something could go wrong the first time you ride it. We hope that doesn't happen, and we go over these vintage machines to locate any issues before they leave...but they are old motorcycles. You must know your way around a toolbox if you plan to own a 50 year old motorcycle. We prefer you come look at the bike in person yourself before purchasing, but if not feasible, we can happily send extra pictures of whatever you'd like to see. But once purchased, this bike has no return or refund period, and is of course sold AS IS, no warranty whatsoever. So please understand what you are buying.
