I made a version of this song, because I think it is beautifully vulnerable in its simplicity. To me, it is like a shameless crying out to be noticed. We are all guilty of committing micro acts of manipulation for attention whether we care to admit it or not; and I think it eats us alive. It is a wretched, damming thing to contort and poison our personalities by letting our egos relentlessly seep into our actions. Narcissism, crocodile tears, conditional love, this song has none of that. It's a person that is choosing to wear their desperate loneliness on their sleeve while hoisting up a white flag... "I barely made it through the day. Today was f***ing sh*t. I am f***ing lonely. F***k me."

We've all had days like this for a myriad of different reasons and we'll probably have days like this again. Each of us will deal with these days in whatever way we feel is available to us at the time. I hope, for our sake, that we can just be honest about them because I think that will propel us out the other end of the sh*ttyness.
