Tarkeshwor mahadev is a religious destination located at Northern side of kathmandu. It is one of the best place for short ride and short hike near kathmandu. Located inside shivapuri national park, Tarkeshwor mahadev has its own myth regarding falling of Sati Devi’s right thigh. The small cave below the temple has gone viral in different social media platforms. This place can be best for meditation and many people prefer it has best cycling location near kathmandu. A special worship is held in Tarkeshwor mahadev during shivaratri.
Adventurous and religious hiking to Tarkeshwar Temple and Panchmane, which is sacred and importance point for both Hindu & Buddhist. One can experience jungle hiking trail with amazing jungle environment. There is a view tower where one can see the bird eye view of Kathmandu valley. One can start hiking from Dharmasthali or riding upto Panchmane as well.

Tarkeshwar Temple is located in Tarkeshwar Muncipality , kathmandu, Nepal within the premises of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. It is a temple of Lord Shiva on the top hill. This is the best destination for ride and then hiking and trekking. The place is known for its temple dedicated to Shiva. Surrounded by thick forests of cedar and pine, it is an ideal place for those who seek for beauty in nature. During Shivratri, a special worship is held.
